Today we are going to take a “Posture of Peace” by looking for something that according to the word of God, the whole earth is filled with.
Posture is a short, audible fist bump to remind you, God is with you in everything. Together, we’re going to be emboldened to take a daily Posture of perfect peace.
In Isaiah 6, the prophet Isaiah shares a vision that he has of God seated on His throne. Can you even imagine? And there are angels around the throne and Isaiah 6:3 says that the angels are calling out to one another. And gosh, aren’t you curious about what the angels around the throne of God are calling out to one another? Well, verse 3 tells us, it says that they called out to one another saying, “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord Almighty.” Now don’t miss this. The whole earth is full of His glory. I feel as though I have been recaptured by this scripture recently.
I’ve shared before in a previous episode, gosh, a long time ago, I think it was Episode 6 of how sometimes I can become so familiar with a scripture like maybe this scripture is familiar to you or you’ve heard this phrasing before, I can become so familiar with a scripture that I no longer familiarize myself with it. Meaning I no longer seek to gain a greater grasp on it. Gosh, I hate to say this, but if I’m not aware, I can treat familiar scripture passages passively, like as if they’re merely platitudes. It’s just like, ah, I’ve got that one and I try to move on to the next thing. Like I know that one already. But I’ve asked my helper, our helper, the Holy Spirit to help me not to do that anymore because I wanna stay open to his leading me into all truth. I wanna treat the truth like it’s the truth. I wanna trust the truth and nothing on earth is more true than the word of God. So I always wanna come to the word of God with reverence, awe, wonder, astonishment and openness to all that the truth has to say. So this passage of truth that we find in Isaiah 6, “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord almighty. The whole earth is full of his glory. The whole earth, where we live is full of his glory”.
Now, do you see His glory here on earth? Are you looking for it? Are you actively partnering with it? Are you pointing it out to others? The whole earth is full of it. His glory, His splendor, His abundance, it’s here, where we live. The whole earth is full of it. You know, it’s so easy to see all the other things that the earth seems to be filled with right now, sin, injustice, pain. And when that’s all we see when that’s all we behold, we become suffocated and stuck and hopeless. Consider the implication of this truth. Ponder it, take it to heart today. Think about it. If the whole earth is filled with his glory, are we then surrounded by it? Are we hemmed in by it? Are we touched by it? Can we be transformed by it? Now don’t forget, 2 Corinthians 3:18 says this about those who turn to the Lord and behold His glory. It says, “And then we, with unveiled face beholding the glory of the Lord are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another, for this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.” I wanna encourage you today. Before you scroll, before you search all the news reports, behold, the glory of the Lord. Search, seek out the glory of the Lord that the whole earth is full of and be expecting to be transformed by it today.
The promise of perfect peace is found in Isaiah 26:3. In Hebrew, it is “shalom, shalom”, meaning complete wholeness. Nothing missing, nothing broken. This is who you are in Jesus. Because of Jesus, you are a living testimony of Jesus’s ultimate win. With every step you take today you’re putting Jesus’s victory on display and satan’s defeat on replay.
