Why? Because it’s not the truth.

Today, we are going to take a “Posture of Peace” by resting in God’s resilience.

Posture is a short, audible fist bump to remind you God is with you in everything. Together, we’re going to be emboldened to take a daily Posture of perfect peace.

Lamentations 3:22-24. Now I know that we have been in this scripture many times before as a Posture community. I love the promises that we find here. And today I’m gonna be reading from the New Living Translation. It says, “the faithful love of the Lord never ends. His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness. His mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, the Lord is my inheritance. Therefore I will hope in him”.

Today is a fresh day. You don’t have to hold on to any of the negatives from yesterday, and you don’t have to hoard any past blessings. God’s mercies are new each morning. His faithful love never ends. He is resilient in this. Our God is more resilient than any attack of the enemy against us. Our God will outlast any pain, any hard circumstance, any injustice. He holds the victory firmly. He holds us firmly, and nothing, nothing will loosen his grip on us. Another translation of Lamentations 3, the NIV translation says this, it says because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. You do not have to fear destruction today, because you will not be consumed. That is a promise. Today is a fresh day. You don’t have to hold on to the negatives from yesterday, bringing them into your today, or your future. And you don’t have to try to hoard any of the past blessings.

I want to encourage you to rid yourself of any thought or feeling that promotes this scarcity mindset. Rid yourself of any thought that is trying to convince you that your best days are behind you, or that the current goodness you may be experiencing in your life right now just cannot last. Or perhaps the current struggle that you’re facing is just how it’s always going to be. No, it’s a lie. Do not believe it. Why? Because it’s not the truth. Think about this instead, the creator of the universe, the one who was, and is, and will always be, the one who is not bound by time or space, who can not be held back, the most high God has made himself your loving father. He calls you his own, and he didn’t have to do this. No one made him. Nothing you did made him be your loving father. He was not obligated, he was not manipulated. He was not tricked. He chose you, because he loves you, because he loves you, because he loves you. He held nothing back. He gave you himself, and not just a little bit of himself, but all of who he is is now yours.

The amplified translation of this scripture that we read says, great and beyond measure is your faithfulness. Colossians 2:9 and 10 seals the truth about measure, about amount. It says for in Christ, all the fullness of the Godhead lives in bodily form. And in Christ, you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. So think about this. You are full of “The One” that no one and nothing can top. I give you permission today, because of the truth, because of what God’s word says about you, to rid yourself of any thought that tries to convince you of being scarce, of having a poverty mindset, of living in unbelief and doubt. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 2:16, you have been given the mind of Christ. You have been given the mind of Christ. So you can think with the same abundant mindset Jesus has, you can see the world through the lens in which Jesus sees the world. There is only one way to think about your life, your story, and the circumstances you face. And that is the way Jesus thinks about them. And his thoughts are victorious.

Today I want to declare the victorious truth over you. You are the head, and not the tail. You are above, and not beneath. You are vulnerable only to the goodness of God. Christ fullness is your starting point. Abundant life is your inheritance. Great is your peace, because you are taught by the Lord. You will overcome, because you are more than a conqueror, through Christ who loves you. And He gave up for you, so that you can share in his victory. Today is a fresh day, and you are full of a resilient God. He is resilient, and therefore, so are you, so today, let’s rest in God’s resilience.
