The glorious transformation of this world was God’s desire long before it was ours.

Today, we are going to take a “Posture of Peace” by beholding who we are becoming.

Posture is a short, audible fist bump to remind you, God is with you in everything. Together, we’re going to be emboldened to take a daily Posture of perfect peace.

2 Corinthians 3:16-18 says, “But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” Circle that in your Bibles. And we all with unveiled face beholding the glory of the Lord are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. So obviously I record these Posture episodes before the actual day they are released to all of you. Sometimes those episodes are recorded well in advance, but most of the time, if I’m being honest it’s like, we’re like a few days before. Sometimes it’s even like the night before, like the late night before. I’m actually recording this episode, episode 134, the day before it is released. So this recording day happens to be on election day here in the United States. I actually went and voted this morning. So at the time of this recording, I do not know who my nation’s leaders will be moving forward. And I’m at total peace, perfect peace right now because here’s the kingdom kicker.

Everything in this book, the word of God stays true no matter who my leaders will be. Now I know that there is an accusing spirit roaming around right now, that will label what I just said as spiritual bypassing. So I’m just gonna call it out. I’m gonna address the tension so that we can let peace rule our hearts and minds. So first I’ll say it again, the word of God stays true no matter who my leaders will be. And that is not an optimistic platitude. That is a foundational kingdom truth that has proven itself for thousands of years. It’s not that who our leaders are doesn’t matter, it’s just that it doesn’t matter nearly as much as who the King of all Kings is and will continue to be. Our God is unchanging even in ever changing circumstances. And let me be clear because I’ve said this before, I do not believe in passively. If I did, like I wouldn’t have voted. As citizens of the kingdom of heaven, we must be anchored in truth and engaged with our world, not anchored in our world while merely engaging with truth.

A lot of people wanna dabble with the truth while they remain anchored in their culture and their worldview and their worldly ideas. No matter where you live, the United States or elsewhere you know, I know so many of us right now are praying and believing for transformation of the world around us. We want transformation of popular culture. We want transformation in our spheres of influence in our communities, in our political systems. And we want transformation in our nations, and that call for transformation. You know, it’s actually been called many names this year. All this year we’ve seen the prayers and the protest and the posts calling for reformation for reconciliation, for revival, for restoration. The desire of our hearts really is what the anointed one our Messiah, Jesus Christ came to bring. Isaiah 61, “We want beauty instead of ashes.” We want to be saturated with the oil of joy instead of drowning in the tears of mourning. And we wanna be clothed with praise instead of burdened with coverings of heaviness and despair. I mean, wouldn’t that be wonderful?

So let us not forget that that kind of glorious transformation was God’s desire long before it was ours. Redemption and restoration, that’s God’s purpose and plan. And it was His purpose and plan long before it was some religious or political campaign. Psalm 33:11 assures us that God’s plans and purposes stand firm. They are never shaken. And you know, you and I, we changed the most when we see for ourselves God’s unchanging heart towards us. The Bible says right here, that when we behold the glory of the Lord, we are transformed into the same image.

Picture this, from one degree of glory to another. You and I are on an ever increasing journey. Remember Genesis 1:26, God is making us into His image and likeness. So your hope for transformation, for that restoration, revival, reconciliation, reformation, your hope for that does not rest in human innovation, it rest in the plans and purposes of your Lord, your redeemer. A redeemed people will transform the world. Changing the world is not a politician’s idea and it’s not a pipe dream, it’s always been the kingdom plan and it will not come through intelligent minds grazing upon worldly wisdom. It will come through surrendered hearts gazing upon the glory of the Lord. So today, be sure to behold who you are becoming.

The promise of perfect peace is found in Isaiah 26:3. In Hebrew, it is “shalom, shalom”, meaning complete wholeness. Nothing missing, nothing broken. This is who you are in Jesus. Because of Jesus, you are a living testimony of Jesus’s ultimate win. With every step you take today you’re putting Jesus’s victory on display and satan’s defeat on replay.
