God, You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are focused on You, because they trust in You. [Isaiah 26:3]
Woke up this morning feeling anxious. My first thought to “fix it” was to go back over my notes again for a teaching I’m giving tonight.
I thought, “Maybe if I prepare a little more, I won’t be so anxious.”
But as I opened my laptop, I sensed the Lord immediately interrupt me.
“It would be better for you to pursue perfect peace right now, not a perfect performance.”
He is, after all, the Prince of Peace not the Prince of Performance.
Once again I’m reminded that God is deeply invested in our well being. It’s our well being that creates the margin for our doing well in the work we are blessed to do.
Are you feeling anxious today? GOOD NEWS: Peace is closer than you think.
