Today, we are going to take a “Posture of Peace” by running into the heart of God.

Posture is a short, audible fist bump to remind you God is with you in everything. Together, we’re going to be emboldened to take a daily Posture of perfect peace.

Proverbs 18:10 says, “The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run into it and they are safe.” And a Passion translation of this verse says it this way, it says, “The character of God is a tower of strength for the lovers of God delight to run into his heart and be exalted on high. For the lovers of God delight to run into his heart and be exalted on high.” Be brought to where He is. The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The name of the Lord, here, signifies who God says He is, what He says about Himself, what He calls Himself. He says, “I’m merciful, I’m good, I’m faithful. I’m abundant, I am love, I’m your Redeemer, I’m your Restorer, I’m your comforter, I’m your Prince of Peace, I’m your mighty counselor, I’m your healer,” just to name a few. The name of the Lord, His character, His very nature is our safe place. And His heart towards us is our place of empowerment.

And here’s the beautiful news, He never changes. So, we always have a safe place in Him and who He says He is for us. You know, when was the last time you considered just how much God loves you? That He loves you because He loves you because He loves you. When is the last time, I’m asking this to myself, when is the last time, Lindsay, you took a moment to bask in His kindness and His gentleness towards you? Jesus said in Matthew 11, “Come to me and I will give you rest.” This is the place we go, this is the place we run to, the very heart of God.

You know, I’ve been in a crazy season of life. There’s been a shift of season. It’s not all bad circumstances, but it’s different. And there’s good and there’s hard in the midst of it. And there’s busy and, you know, I’m wanting to continually take this Posture of peace every day. And it’s tempting sometimes to rely on myself to do this, right? If I can just think clearly for a moment, then I could do this, you know, if I can just have an hour of quiet time, if I could just read more of the Bible, if I could figure this out, if I could get my to-do list in order, if I could just be productive today. But we’re called to something so much greater and better, and the good and the bad, and the hard and the busy, and the ugly, and moments of time where there’s confusion we have a place to run, we have a safe place. And it’s not our own strength, it’s not our own intellect, it’s not our own ability, it’s not even the beautiful, wonderful people we have surrounding us in this life. It is the very nature of God. That is where we can always run to, that is where we can always lean into.

So, my encouragement for you today is to run into the heart of God, consider who He is and who He says He will be for you. Take a moment to consider how much He loves you, because He loves you because He loves you because He loves you. Take a moment to bask in His gentleness, and His goodness, and His faithfulness, and His kindness towards you. It’s not a mind thing, it’s a heart thing. It’s heart to heart with Him. Remember, you have a safe place, and the lovers of God delight to run into His heart.
