Today, we are going to take a “Posture of Peace” by not using the unknown as an excuse to not have peace.

Posture is a short, audible fist bump to remind you, God is with you in everything. Together, we’re going to be emboldened to take a daily Posture of perfect peace.

Okay, so I’m taking my cues from vacation Lindsay of last week and we are back in the same scripture as last episode, Psalm 119:05, I love the scripture and I had more to say, so, that’s what we’re gonna be talking about today, it says this about the Lord, it says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path, my feet and my path”. God brings clarity to our present, and He gives us direction for our future. You know, nothing seems to threaten your sense, your awareness of peace, like the unknown, at least it’s that way for me. I have to often forfeited my peace by using the excuse, I just don’t know.

When I need clarity, when I need direction, there is this temptation to just be totally overwhelmed by that need and allow myself to believe, I don’t know what to do. I don’t know what decision to make, I don’t know how to respond, I don’t know what to say, I don’t know how to fix it, I don’t know how to move forward, but that’s because I’ve skipped the most important step. I haven’t first sought the Lord. And I don’t mean like throwing up a desperate prayer of Lord, God, please help me now, and you know, continuing to stew in the chaos of my situation while I’m hoping He just interrupts it all. I mean, I haven’t set aside the issue, the hurt feelings, the overwhelm, and taken the time to sit down with peace Himself.

So, you know, what happens is I remain caught up and consumed by the details of the situation, expecting clarity to just sweep in at some point and interrupt my chaos and fix things, but I’ve not given any head space or heart space to peace. I’ve instead allowed anx to grow and grow and fill every space within me, and if you resonate with any of that, today as a fresh day, His mercies are new every morning. So, if you found yourself being steered or directed by the words of others or the actions of others, set it aside, set aside the negativity, set aside the flattery, maybe set aside your screen for the day, and sit down with the Prince of Peace, lean into His word, into His thoughts and into His nature.

It’s not magic, It’s not a complicated formula, it’s simply awareness and expectations, it’s choosing to set your awareness on Him and set your expectations on His promises. He’s always present, read Hebrews 13:5, He leads us and He guides us, which means He speaks to us, and we have been empowered to hear Him speak and to follow what He says. Check out John 16:13 and Romans 8:14 for more on that. If you find yourself stuck in a circumstance where you don’t know what to do, be unstuck by this truth. You know what to do, you have the first step, seek the Lord.

The promise of perfect peace is found in Isaiah 26:3, In Hebrew. It is shalom, shalom, meaning complete wholeness, nothing missing, nothing broken. This is who you are in Jesus, because of Jesus. You are a living testimony of Jesus’s ultimate win with every step you take today you’re putting Jesus’s victory on display and satan’s defeat on replay.
